THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

Iran poised to expand uranium enrichment at underground facility, diplomats say

The reported work at Fordo appeared to reflect Iran’s determination to forge ahead with nuclear activity that could be used to make atomic arms despite rapidly escalating international sanctions and the latent threat of an Israeli military strike on its nuclear facilities.

Every baseball bat “could be used to” commit murder. But we do not arrest, jail, or execute the owners of baseball bats until they actually commit a crime. “Could” is not the same thing as “has”, which applies to nations as well as people. When Iran actually, provably HAS a nuclear weapon, then the US and Israel can simply remind Iran of the US and Israel’s much larger nuclear arsenals, and Iran can display their nuclear bomb in a museum to impress their citizens, or to be more realistic, use it to discourage invasions by outside aggressors in this era where the US is invading and conquering every nation that doe snot actually have nuclear weapons.

Iran Nuclear Coverage Echoes Iraq War Media Frenzy

Military strikes expected! Weapons inspectors called in! A murky al Qaeda connection! And Cheney says time’s up for Ira…

Wait. Haven’t we seen this movie before?

It’s already been a decade since the media hyped bogus WMD claims prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. But it sure feels like 2002 for anyone who was around then and is now scanning newspaper headlines or watching TV talking-heads discuss a possible Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities — an act which could pull the U.S. into another thorny Middle East military conflict.

Obama Officials: Iran Sanctions Will Fail, Leading to War

While insisting that they “want to see sanctions work,” Obama Administration officials are convinced that the sanctions won’t lead Iran to abandon its civilian nuclear program and that either the US or Israel will attack Iran as a result.

Iran’s nuclear programme could tip the world into ‘a new Cold War’, warns William Hague as U.S. says strike on Tehran is inevitable

Iranian warships dock at Syrian port after crossing Suez Canal

Press TV reports the arrival of two Iranian warships at the Syrian city of Tartous; crossing of the Suez Canal is the second in a year by Iranian warships.

Iran is showing solidarity with Syria, but of course that is what Israel and the US really want. The goal of the attack on Syria isn’t Syria but opening the door to war with Iran!

Why Iran Why not Israel/India/Pakistan

Effort to change U.S. red line on Iran has Senate Dems worried about war

A new bipartisan resolution introduced Thursday on Capitol Hill is part of a growing effort to shift the longstanding U.S. red line from Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon to having the capability to build one. Such a shift would bring U.S. policy in line with Israel’s approach.

The resolution — a nonbinding Senate statement backed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee – calls on the United States to prevent Iran from acquiring even the capability to build nuclear weapons.

Congress see, congress do.

How Iran Changed The World

Imagine this scenario: A developing nation decides to selectively share its precious natural resource, selling only to “friendly” countries and not “hostile” ones. Now imagine this is oil we’re talking about and the nation in question is the Islamic Republic of Iran…

Early news reports on Wednesday claimed that Iran pre-empted European Union sanctions by turning off the oil spigot to six member-states: the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Greece and Portugal.

Hague ‘new Cold War’ fear over Iran – The Independent

Iran’s nuclear ambitions could plunge the world into “a new Cold War” with the Middle East, Foreign Secretary William Hague warned today.

He predicted a nuclear arms race among rival Middle Eastern states that would carry the dangers without the safety mechanisms of the old rivalry between the West and the USSR.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, he insisted Britain did not back military action against the Islamic republic – as Israel is thought to be planning.

But he said there was a “crisis coming down the tracks” that could result in “disaster” for world affairs.
(BIAS ALERT: William Hague MP is noted as a “Friend of Israel”).

Pakistan allies with Iran against US

Pakistan has pledged to support Iran if the US launches a military attack against the Islamic Republic. The Pakistani president assured the Iranian leader that his country’s territory will not be used as a launch pad for such an assault.

Should the United Stated decide to attack Iran, Pakistan will not support the move and will not allow the US to use its local airbases for military operations, the Pakistani leader Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday.

Iran-Israel Shadow War Spreads to Asia

Incredibly it hasn’t occurred to journalists in the employ of the corporate media yet. Or perhaps they know but they’re just not saying. Either way no Israeli was killed in any of the three attacks on Israeli targets in Asia this week, even though the attacks caused more damage to the assailants than their alleged targets
