THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
“In this point of the case the question is distinctly presented whether the people of the United States are to govern through representatives chosen by their unbiased suffrages or whether the money and power of a great corporation are to be secretly exerted to influence their judgment and control their decisions.” — Andrew Jackson
Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald on Monday compared the length of time veterans wait to receive health care at the VA to the length of time people wait for rides at Disneyland, and said his agency shouldn’t use wait times as a measure of success because Disney doesn’t either.
But the tourists aren’t dropping dead waiting for the Pirates of the Caribbean!
Five years after a US-NATO war shattered Libya, Washington is preparing to send troops into the oil-rich North African nation for a “long-term mission,” the Pentagon’s top uniformed commander said Thursday.
Four refugees sent to Indiana by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement in 2015 were diagnosed with active tuberculosis once they arrived in the Hoosier State, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
In 2003 and 2004 the US government depended heavily on the real or concocted personae of KSM as a major source of “evidence” in the Philip Zelikow-authored fable known as the 9/11 Commission Report. An expert in the engineering of public mythology to secure popular consent for so-called pre-emptive warfare, Professor Zelikow was one of the key point persons responsible for pinning the false flag terror extravaganza of 9/11 on CIA asset Osama bin Laden.
This was supposed to be a joke, but the liberal females couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bash their male counterparts.
Pro-reform protesters who took to the streets of Baghdad on Friday were in mourning over the weekend, after bloody crackdowns on the demonstrators who entered the Green Zone left at least four dead and over 100 others wounded.
Despite most of the casualties involving being shot with live ammunition, officially the Iraqi government insists only rubber bullets were used. Photos from the site of the crackdown showed dozens of bullet casings littered around the area.
A 66-year old Muslim, detained on suspicion of attempted murder, after four women were stabbed at a Sainsburys in Hampton, was on bail for assaulting a police officer a DAY before the attack.
Mainstream Syrian rebel groups said on Sunday they would no longer abide by a threadbare “cessation of hostilities” deal unless the Syrian army ended a major assault on their positions in the suburbs of Damascus within 48 hours.
The House of Representatives has removed language from the 2017 military spending bill requiring women to register for the draft, but the battle over the issue continues, with intense debate ongoing over the Draft America’s Daughters Act.
With the fall and virtual destruction of the Anbar Provincial capital city of Ramadi earlier this year, Fallujah is the major ISIS city that is closest to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, and is the target of a new offensive announced by Iraqi PM Hayder Abadi this weekend.
War is a profitable business, they say, – so much so, it seems, that the US has placed it at the heart of its economy. This is why US politicians and military officials have claimed that Russia poses a threat to their nation and its allies, analyst Finian Cunningham asserted, adding that Washington’s only real enemy is peace.
Serious allegations have been made about the deaths of civilians at the hands of Turkish security forces in the overwhelmingly Kurdish town of Cizre in south-eastern Turkey earlier this year.
Local people say Turkish security forces killed up to 160 civilians in the town, according to statements made to the BBC and human rights groups.
It is blatantly obvious to me and other annalists I have spoken with that factions U.S. government are desperately trying yet once again to pass the blame by taking away attention garnered onto themselves after poorly staging the September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, accidentally leaving mounds of incriminating evidence behind, casting a shadow of doubt over the average citizen.
A site run by Denbury Onshore LLC in southwestern North Dakota has spilled more than 120,000 gallons of oil and wastewater into pastureland after a mechanical failure.
Some estimated 17,000 gallons of oil and 105,000 gallons of drilling wastewater containing saltwater and chemicals leaked into pastureland near the city of Marmarth when a tank sensor failed, news agencies quoted state regulators as saying.
The tank overflowed on Wednesday, and by Friday, workers were excavating the affected pastureland, which is being equated to the size of a football field.

Health investigators continue to monitor the spill, which Denbury believes was ultimately caused by a power outage that led to sensor failure.
Huge vacuums were being used to suck up the spilled waste from the pastureland and then crews were forced to dig around 18 inches into the ground to remove the contaminated layer of pastureland.
Looks like yet another fracking disaster, for which the people of North Dakota will be paying with massive health consequences, over time.
Over 100 people are feared dead after seven blasts targeted several locations in the coastal towns of Jableh and Tartus, Syria’s Latakia province, according to media reports. The locations are close to two Russian military facilities: the Khmeimim airbase and the Tartus naval base.
Islamic State militants claimed the attacks saying via its news outlet, Amaq, that “gatherings of Alawites in Tartous and Jableh” had been targeted. The Alawites is the minority sect to which President Bashar Assad belongs.
According to Ikhbariya TV, there were up to three explosions in the coastal town of Jableh near the local railway terminal. RIA Novosti and state TV also report a fourth explosion, at the emergency unit of a local hospital.
The blasts left over 45 people dead, police sources initially told RIA. Then the joint death toll was raised to over 100.
IF such action by US government sponsored, trained, and funded jihadists, was supposed to be a “warning” to President Putin and Russia about their activities to neutralize all jihadists opposing Bashar Al-Assad’s government, this will backfire, like a bad trick cigar.
Please remember; as of the 25th of this month (that’s this Wednesday, folks), Russia has reserved the right to attack any and all jihadists, including those backed by the US government, who are opposing Al-Assad’s government. We are looking at potential Russian air strikes on steroids when this happens.
The SEC showed its true colors yet again at a panel at Stanford Law School at the end of March, although not as dramatically as last year. In last spring’s SEC panel at Stanford, the then head of examinations, Andrew Bowden, made such fawning remarks about private equity, including repeatedly saying he’d really like his son to work in the industry, that he resigned three weeks after we publicized the segment. Nevertheless, this conference was another demonstration of depth of regulatory capture at the agency.
As before, the real action came in when the audience members asked questions. They were all fielded by Andrew Ceresney, a former Debevoise & Plympton partner, now head of enforcement. We’re going to look at two questions in succession.
Absoflippinglutely unbelievable; but then again, the criminally-made rich rarely eat their own.
One evening in the late 1960s (I was then in high school), my father and I were watching television. The local station announced that, later that week, it would show the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1947, Gentleman’s Agreement.
My father and I awaited the film with anticipation. After all, we equated “Best Picture” Oscars with superior entertainment—films like All about Eve, On the Waterfront, Lawrence of Arabia, and A Man for All Seasons.
To our disappointment, Gentleman’s Agreement, a two-hour sermon on the woe of American anti-Semitism, was one of the dullest films we’d ever watched. It was all dialogue, no action. No humor either. A token romance was thrown in, but it had no spark.
It would be nice if Eichenwald’s hit piece were as much a joke as it comes across, but clearly he’s missed the point — and the vast movement supporting not only Sanders, but electoral justice. Worse, he didn’t stop there:
“Signs are emerging that the Sanders campaign is transmogrifying into the type of movement through which tyrants are born.
“The ugly was on display” at the aforementioned Nevada convention, Eichenwald adds, “where Hillary Clinton won more delegates than Sanders.”
No kidding. That would be precisely the issue that “cult” expressed fury about — Clinton managed to put yet another state under her belt under highly questionable circumstances. In fact, suspect happenings at nearly every primary and caucus so far oddly favor the former secretary of state — and Nevada stood as further testament to why voters are practically up in arms over what appears to be electoral favoritism.
Clinton is obsessed with obtaining the power of the oval office, and by any means necessary; she, and the people around her, who understand the perks of power, are hell-bent to obtain it, and by any means necessary.
She and her supporters have the morals of a dead tree-stump, and have had their consciences collectively, and thoroughly, removed.
It is pretty easy to predict the ultimate outcomes of a Clinton presidency; more wars; the return of the draft; more income inequality (as she is owned, body and soul, by Wall Street and the military industrial and pharmaceutical industries); more job offshoring and outsourcing, leaving more Americans without meaningful jobs; and a complete collapse of the American economic system.
And don’t get me wrong here; I would LOVE to see a woman as President; just, please, Lord, not THIS woman!!
A world-renowned Canadian philosopher argues that the United States holds the world record of illegal killings of unarmed civilians and extrajudicial detention and torturing of prisoners who are detained without trial.
Prof. John McMurtry says that the U.S. government is a gigantic mass-murdering machine which earns profit through waging wars, and is never held accountable over its unspeakable war crimes and crimes against humanity. He also believes that the U.S. has become a police state, which treats its citizens in the most derogatory manner.
Oxfam UK Chief Executive Mark Goldring said Monday in a statement that the United Kingdom fuels “brutal war” in Yemen by supplying Saudi Arabia, which is involved in the conflict, with cluster bombs.
NATO adheres to a dual-track strategy towards Russia, planning to combine “deterrence” with a “political dialogue”. However, the planned deployment of NATO battalions in Poland and the Baltic States has already caused negative reaction from the Kremlin, and raised doubts about NATO’s intention to “reset” relations with Moscow, Der Spiegel wrote.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi on Monday announced start of military offensive to reclaim the city of Fallujah occupied by the Islamic State (Daesh) militant group.
“It is time to liberate the city of Fallujah,” Abadi said.

In a world of increasingly more negative interest rates, one group is impacted more than most: pensioners who had relied on fixed income to fund their retirement years who are slowly discovering that as pension funds are unable to meet their annual 6-7% return target, that the pensions promised to them will never materialize, or worse be haircut by 50%, 60% or more.
On the eve of President Obama’s April 2016 visit to Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Congress began debating the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), that would, inter alia, allow the families of victims of the September 11 attacks to sue the Saudi government for damages. Also in April 2016, theNew York Times published that a 2002 congressional inquiry into the 9/11 attacks had found that Saudi officials living in the United States at the time had a hand in the plot. The commission’s conclusions, said the paper, were specified in a report that has not been released publicly.
And the response to her lies is powerful beyond words…

When the news hit on May 5 that Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu would unexpectedly stand down from his post as a result of sharply escalating fighting behind the scenes over president Tayyip Erdogan’s relentless attempt to rule Turkey with virtually no checks and balances, the market was not happy, and the volatility of the Turkish Lira soared the most in the past decade.
Turkey should be thrown out of NATO for its genocidal treatment of its Kurdish minority; unfortunately, that will only happen when pigs fly, because NATO will need Turkey’s military for any upcoming war against Russia, because Turkey has the 2nd largest military in NATO.
The US informed its NATO allies it would send less troops to Eastern Europe for deterring “Russian aggression” than initially planned, undisclosed military sources revealed to the Wall Street Journal.
As you begin to understand world governments don’t have your best interests in mind — that enemies of the State could more aptly be called enemies of the globe’s corporate and banking elite — power comes sharply into focus. Those who actually hold the power control the world’s economies, and it’s clear the fates of over 7.4 billion souls now inhabiting the planet are, at best, the least of their concern.
Of those at the top of food chain, so to speak, a small collection of families dictates both domestic and foreign policy — mainly through fueling war and conflict for the good of the military and pharmaceutical industries, and to a greater extent, corporate and central banks.
Five families, in particular, have made a killing off killing — from the enormously lucrative business of debt it creates to the industries feeding off the plundering of world resources — and therefore control the world.
Writing a bad review online has always run a small risk of opening yourself up to a defamation claim. But few would expect to be told that they had to delete their review or face a lawsuit over another part of the law: copyright infringement.
Thanks to Purdue University and Homeland Security, police can access public CCTV cameras anyywhere.
Purdue researchers have developed a prototype system called ‘Visual Analytics for Command, Control and Interoperability Environments’ (VACCINE) which allows law enforcement to tap into thousands of CCTV cameras. Which means police can now spy on you in parking garages, college campuses, national parks, highways etc.
Police use VACCINE to spy on millions of images daily
“Although the [CCTV] cameras are not deployed for surveillance purposes, they can be utilized to increase public safety by properly integrating with current surveillance systems” said Yung-Hsiang Lu, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.
“Welcome to Amerika! Show me your papers, bend over, and spread ’em!!” – official national police souse.
I stated in 2003 that the insider elitists would hold up the system with printed money long enough to wipe every last crumb of middle class wealth off the “table” and into their pockets. If you don’t have enough cash laying around to buy your own Federal-level “elected” official, you are middle class.
It’s easy for Wall Street to get their share of the crumbs being swept off the table because it’s managed to infiltrate and control every nook and cranny of Capitol Hill. Hillary Clinton is a Democrat? Really? Then how come she and Bill greedily take millions from Goldman Sachs alone in “speaking” fees. Quite frankly, ex-Presidents OR potential Presidential candidates should be barred from accepting paid appearances from any corporate or corporate-sponsored entity, but especially from Wall Street.
Forget blaming the “Evil Republicans,” forget blaming Fox News, forget blaming the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy,” forget blaming race, forget blaming climate change, or lack of climate change, or any other damn thing liberals will come up with as an excuse to exercise their feigned outrage when the rest of the sane people in the country call His Highness’s Ass the TRAITOR that he is. I know how much liberals HATE facts, but they’re just going to have to deal with them here. As my favorite conservative talk show host Andrew Wilkow likes to say, “We’re right, they’re wrong. That’s the end of the story. The arguments here cannot be broken.” I’m will to bet, many of you have a hard time looking in the mirror when you finish reading this, knowing that you did not get involved.
Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution:
Why we MUST quit the EU, by Cameron’s guru: Friend and strategist Steve Hilton breaks ranks on Brexit to say Britain will be ‘literally ungovernable’ unless we take back power from the self-serving elite
In a shattering blow to the Prime Minister, Steve Hilton claims the UK is ‘literally ungovernable’ as a democracy while it remains in a club that has been ‘corruptly captured’ by a self-serving elite.
And in an attack on Project Fear, the former No 10 adviser dismisses claims by Mr Cameron, the IMF and the Bank of England that being in the EU makes us more secure.
In an exclusive Daily Mail article, Mr Hilton – who persuaded Mr Cameron to stand for Tory leader – also delivers a devastating assessment of the PM’s referendum deal.
He says Mr Cameron made only ‘modest’ demands of Brussels – and that even these were swatted contemptuously aside. He also warns that Brussels will take revenge on Britain for the referendum if it votes to stay, by imposing fresh diktats.

Urging people to follow low-fat diets and to lower their cholesterol is having “disastrous health consequences”, a health charity has warned.
In a damning report that accuses major public health bodies of colluding with the food industry, the National Obesity Forum and the Public Health Collaboration call for a “major overhaul” of current dietary guidelines. They say the focus on low-fat diets is failing to address Britain’s obesity crisis, while snacking between meals is making people fat.
Instead, they call for a return to “whole foods” such as meat, fish and dairy, as well as high-fat, healthy foods including avocados, arguing: “Eating fat does not make you fat.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is attempting to suppress information about a massive database which contains fingerprints, palm prints, iris, voice, and face scans, as well as other biometric data, of millions of Americans.
In early May the U.S. Department of Justice released a proposal which would exempt the FBI’s biometric database from public disclosure. Specifically, the proposal would exempt the Next Generation Identification (NGI) System from provisions of the federal Privacy Act, which “requires federal agencies to share information about the records they collect with the individual subject of those records, allowing them to verify and correct them if needed.” The proposal is open for public comment until June 6, 2016.
Ronald Reagan was severely criticized in 1989 when, after he left office, he was paid $2 million for a couple of speeches in Japan. “The founding fathers would have been stunned that an occupant of the highest office in this land turned it into bucks,” sniffed a Columbia professor.
So what would Washington and Jefferson make of Hillary Rodham Clinton? Mandatory financial disclosures released this month show that, in just the two years from April 2013 to March 2015, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state collected $21,667,000 in “speaking fees,” not to mention the cool $5 mil she corralled as an advance for her 2014 flop book, “Hard Choices.”

US President Barack Obama says he will not apologize to Japan over the 1945 US atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, emphasizing that improving mutual ties will instead be the focus of his upcoming trip to the country.
This Friday, Obama will become the first sitting US president to ever tour the site of the world’s first nuclear bombing that killed more than 140,000 people in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
Former President Bill Clinton raked in millions of dollars from special interest groups in the weeks just before and after his wife announced her presidential campaign, including $325,000 from a group that pushed for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Mounting evidence presented by high-ranking US military officials to the United States’ Congress make it clear that the American army, once a powerful might backing Washington’s policies around the world, is now slowly, but surely, unraveling.
Global Robocop NATO predictably discussed Afghanistan (a war NATO ignominiously lost); Iraq (a war the Pentagon ignominiously lost); Libya (a nation NATO turned into a failed state devastated by militia hell); Syria (a nation NATO, via Turkey, would love to invade, and is already a militia hell).
Afghans must now rest assured that NATO’s Resolute Support mission – plus “financial support for Afghan forces” – will finally assure the success of Operation Enduring Freedom forever.
The wackos that believe that Barack Hussein Obama is a political rock star are blind to reality. It would be one thing if eccentric characteristics shaped such opinions of social outcasts, but when entire segments of the MTV population speak in a PBS lisp, the liberal popular culture has drunk the kool aid. The zombie rage in flicks is no accident. Converting entire generations of lost souls into National Civilian Service Corps NSA informants is an effortless task, when government schooled illiterates adore Barry Soetoro. Turning a constitutional republic into a collectivist gulag is only possible, when the greater fool principle becomes the law of the land.
Phil Gordon, a former senior White House adviser who is now part of the Clinton campaign’s foreign policy brain trust, argued Thursday that it’s time to stop calling for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s departure, saying the demand is part of a U.S. strategy that has failed to end the conflict.
Hillary Clinton presidency would only guarantee more of the same. And as the attached excellent piece from the American Conservative explains, it would also keep the nation’s leading clan of warmongers firmly ensconced in the corridors of power.

Pominent cultural historian Prof. Catherine Hall of University College London declined to receive the prestigious Dan David Prize, which was due to be awarded on Sunday in a ceremony at Tel Aviv.
“This was an independent political choice, undertaken after many discussions with those who are deeply involved with the politics of Israel-Palestine, but with differing views as to how best to act,” Hall said in a statement.
Three Palestinian, including a child, Sunday were shot and injured by Israeli forces’ fire during clashes that erupted in Dheisheh Refugee Camp to the south of Bethlehem.
Hundreds of thousands of people have demonstrated in nearly 50 countries around the globe to protest against the American mega producer company of genetically engineered (GE) seeds Monsanto, saying the corporation’s modified food and chemical herbicides pose grave threats to health.
“Reckless,” “alarming,” “disastrous,” “swashbuckling,” “playing with fire,” “crazy talk,” “lost in a forest of nonsense”: these are a few of the labels applied by media commentators to Donald Trump’s latest proposal for dealing with the federal debt. On Monday, May 9th, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate said on CNN, “You print the money.”
This week the Spanish newspaper El País published an article called “Science confirms that GMOs are as safe as other foods”, commenting on the latest report by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), titled “Genetically engineered crops: Experiences and prospects”. However, the report paints a very different picture from the one portrayed by the headlines.
In 2014, we published an article entitled “Watch the Movie Before It Is Filmed.” In that article, I described the situation in Venezuela at that time. The effects of fifteen years of collectivism were threatening to collapse the economy. The government was reacting by printing bolivares (Venezuelan currency) on a large scale—a knee-jerk solution that has been utilized by over twenty other countries in the last century—always with the same outcome: hyperinflation, resulting in economic collapse.
At the time, I recommended to readers that they “watch the movie” as it was being played out in Venezuela, as it would offer them insight into what was on the way in their own country, should they reside in Europe or North America.
Tony Blair’s reputation will be seriously damaged by upcoming Chilcot report into the Iraq War and will deliver ‘absolutely brutal’ verdict on Jack Straw and intelligence figures, former minister reveals
Tony Blair’s reputation will be seriously damaged by the upcoming Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq War, according to a senior source who has discussed the report with its authors.
The report – which will finally be published on July 6 – will also deliver an ‘absolute brutal’ verdict on the former Labour prime minister, ex-foreign secretary Jack Straw and the former MI6 boss Sir Richard Dearlove, a former government minister added.
This is unbelievable. We know top NATO officers tend to be peculiar characters (recall the famous warmongers Philip Breedlove and Wesley Clark) but so far they stayed clear of claiming magical powers.
This is no longer the case British general Richard Shirreff who between 2011 and 2014 served as the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe has consulted his crystal ball and has concluded that in the fifth month next year Russia will invade Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine.
How can it be that in virtually all of the Presidential-candidate head-to-head Democratic versus Republican polling that was done of both Democratic and Republican candidates during the primaries, the preferred Democratic candidate against any one of the Republican candidates was Bernie Sanders, but he almost certainly won’t be that Party’s nominee (and there’s more on that here).
On May 11, defense lawyers for the accused mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks asked for judge Col. James Pohl and the prosecution team to be recused from the trial, and for the case to be shut down. Defense lawyers David Nevin and Maj. Derek Poteet say that the U.S. government destroyed evidence related to the case, according to the New York Times. The two men are unable to provide further details because the issue is classified, but Mr. Nevin said the evidence was “favorable” to the defendants.
The new collateral damage laws we’ve been living under for the past year have really been working out great, as far as I’m concerned. We don’t let it get out of hand, though. Only property damage is excusable using bullshit medieval arguments about what we “really intended” and what we “merely knew was going to happen.” Damage or death to people or animals is not included in the law.
I’ve heard tell, though, that there is another world somewhere in which, believe it or not, the exact opposite is true. In that world, if I were to damage someone’s property and pull out a load of horse manure about “just intentions” or “proportional collateral damage,” I’d be punished for the destruction I’d caused and possibly locked up for my delusional state of mind.
The European Commission is on Monday expected to issue an opinion critical of the state of democracy and the rule of law in Poland under the country’s Law and Justice (PiS) government.
The commission, the executive body of the European Union, last week gave Poland until Monday to find a solution to an ongoing row and a deadlock over the country’s Constitutional Tribunal.
But since then tensions have escalated, with the PiS-dominated parliament voting through a resolution on Friday calling on the government to “defy all actions infringing” Poland’s sovereignty and pointing a blaming finger at Brussels.
A critical opinion by the European Commission would be a further step in a long process that could lead to the EU imposing penalties on Warsaw, theoretically including the suspension of its voting rights in the EU Council.
But Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said his country would veto any such move, which would have to be backed unanimously by EU member states.
More Funds? Pentagon’s Main Problem is It Had ‘Too Much Money for Too Long’
Leaders at the Pentagon have long campaigned for increased defense spending, citing imaginary threats from Russia and China as one of the key reasons, but the US military’s main problem is that it has grown too accustomed to generous budgets, international relations and security analyst Mark Sleboda told Radio Sputnik.
“The US military is still facing large degrees of corruption. Their problem is probably that they’ve had too much money for too long and they are able to throw it around without thinking about how it’s been spent,” he said. “It would actually be better for them to experience a little bit of belt tightening in that regard. A little more self-control.”
The House of Representatives approved its version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 last week. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill later this month. Senator John McCain is set to contest the $602 billion military spending bill, arguing an extra $17 billion is needed
