“This year’s conference will be more interesting,” AIPAC told Arutz Sheva. “It is an election year, so there will be a lot of congressmen and senators who would do anything to get the Jewish vote.”
Likud MK Danny Danon, who spoke with Arutz Sheva on Friday, stressed the importance of the conference not just to American Jews but also to Israel.
“This is an important event which sends a message to the United States Administration,” he said, “That message is that Israel is important to U.S. Jews and to the entire world. I hope that Obama comes out of the AIPAC Conference with a clear message that he must address the Iranian issue.”
Let’s look at some of those statements again:
“…there will be a lot of congressmen and senators who would do anything to get the Jewish vote.”
I don’t even have to speculate about what that “anything” must involve right now: an immediate declaration of war against Iran.
And Likud MK Danny Danon’s statement that “I hope that Obama comes out of the AIPAC Conference with a clear message that he must address the Iranian issue.” means again only one thing: an immediate American attack against Iran.
I would, however like to strongly caution Likud MK Danon, the AIPAC representative who stated that “there will be a lot of congressmen and senators who would do anything to get the Jewish vote.”, and all US Congressional representatives attending this event on the following.
The American people have become sick, tired, and angry at the cost, in American blood and American money, that Israel consistently demands this country sacrifice upon the altar of potential Israeli hegemony in the Middle East. That Americans are expected to fight, get maimed for life, and frequently die to “neutralize” yet another of Israel’s “existential threats” is no longer acceptable to thinking Americans.
And please remember: it generally will not be the kids of Senators and Congressional Representatives, or AIPAC members’ kids who will be involved here.
If these people are so gung-ho about starting a war against Iran to please Israel and AIPAC, they should demand that their kids of appropriate age sign up for military service, and volunteer to get as close to the center of combat as humanly possible.
I would also like to remind Congressional representatives that Americans are also sick, tired, and angry at their putting the interests of a foreign government above the interests and needs of the American people.
The geopolitical outcomes Israel desires many times clash horrendously with those which would benefit the American people, and a potential US-led war against Iran is certainly one of those instances.
And lastly, as you all know, leadership in Pakistan, Russia, and China have all gone very public in stating that if there is an attack against Iran, these three nuclear-armed countries will come to Iran’s aid militarily.
So what we have here is the potential for global thermonuclear war against an alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program which cannot, to date, be proven to exist!
Hana Shalabi vs Israel: Palestinian political prisoner on hunger strike against administrative detention
Today Hana Shalabi entered her 16th day of hunger strike against Israeli administrative detention. This is Shalabi’s second round of administrative detention; she was held without charge from 2009-2011 in Israeli administrative detention. Last October Shalabi was released through a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.
Wednesday, the hunger striker was scheduled to see a judge at Ofer Military Court. However, Shalibi and her attorney were banned; the hearing took place without Shalabi, and the judge ruled to postpone a decision on the hunger striker’s release. The next hearing is set for March 3, 2011, when an Israeli intelligence official will be present. Neither Shalabi nor her attorney is permitted to attend the hearing.
Indefinite incarceration without charge is the denial of a basic human right: there should be a huge international outcry against this wretchedly apartheid Israeli practice against Palestinians.
If anyone participating in these hunger strikes dies, Israel will find these deaths may well have…unintended consequences.
I would therefore encourage the Israeli civilian and military leadership to be very careful what they wish for, given the circumstances.
The African asylum-seekers, hoping for a solution to their limbo status, have fled impossible situations at home — mostly Eritrea and Sudan. They were greeted upon arrival in Israel with a hostile government that offers them no support or protection and wants them out.
The trend was cemented in January, when the 1954 Prevention of Infiltration law was amended. The amendment allows the state to detain refugees without trial for three years, or indefinitely if they are from an “enemy” country such as Sudan.
This puts Israel at first place among western states for the longest jail time for asylum seekers, according to Amnesty International (“Israel: new detention law violates rights of asylum seekers,” 10 January 2012).
You’ve got to love Israel’s “humanitarian approach” to their refugee problem!
On March 1st Friends of the IDF hosted a Purim fundraising party at the Highline Ballroom in N.Y.C. Young, Jewish and Proud, the youth contingent of Jewish Voice for Peace, held a cheerful, exuberant, holiday demonstration in front of the ballroom to greet the party goers with the message that, like Queen Esther, they had to protest injustice. Their signs, traditional Purim song (with new topical words), other songs, chants, and imaginative street theater, a ‘Purim Spiel’, explained that they were protesting the entire Israeli apartheid apparatus – walls, checkpoints, settlements (colonies) on Palestinian land, indefinite detentions, and the brutal racist treatment of Palestinians. In the spirit of the holiday some wore costumes.
On March 5, 2012, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet US President Barack Obama in the White House. The name of the game would be “attack on Iran’s nuclear installations,” with each participant wanting the other one to be the aggressor. Israel’s options are limited; the only chance Israel has to win such a war is by utterly destroying the decision taking bodies of the Iranian regime. The Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Guardian Council, the Presidency, the Supreme Leader institution, the military headquarters; all must be gone so that no one would be able to block Hormuz or order the bombing of Tel Aviv following the initial Israeli strike.
Engel proves the degree to which Israel has subverted the entire US Government. With all the problems America and Americans are suffering, what does Engel talk about? He brags how pro-Israel he is and tries to get Jonathan Pollard released because aster all; he’s such a mensch and spies for “friendly” nations should never be punished (like those Israeli spies arrested near the destroyed World Trade Towers who were quietly sent home by the US Government to brag about their 9-11 exploits on Israeli TV! )
My parent’s generation was forced to spend $5 trillion (back when a trillion was really a lot of money) on a nuclear capability which Pollard undermined when he gave key secrets to Israel WHO THEN TRADED THOSE SECRETS TO THE USSR in exchange for increased emigration quotas for Jews! So Pollard’s treason betrayed us not to a friend but to our worst enemy.
No government can serve two masters, and a government that serves Israel cannot serve the American people.
A friend to Israel is no friend of America.
America needs leaders who will put America first, second, and third.
Engel fails that test. Time to send Israel a message and vote their whores out of Congress.
“Don’t you dare talk to them. Just go ahead and kill them for us! Or we will call you anti-Semites and THEN you’ll be sorry!” — Nodding Yahoo
Personally, I think the world should step back and let Israel fight their own wars from now on.
Days before Israel’s president, Shimon Peres, was to meet with President Obama, Mr. Peres said on Thursday that the United States must make clear to Iran that “all options are on the table,” but he acknowledged that there was disagreement over where to draw the “red line” that would set off military intervention.
I have a better idea. How about Israel fights its own damned wars from now on and America takes care of America.
