The very anticipated operating system Windows 8 will have a feature that was never found on PC’s before: A kill switch that can remotely delete software and edit code without the user’s permission. Although Microsoft claims the switch would only be used for software that is downloaded from its app store, no official policies clearly define the actual purpose of the kill switch. In other words, nothing is truly considered “illegal” and that includes issues regarding spying, censorship and free speech.
People are calling her ‘overprotective’—I call her a hero.
Andrea Fornella Abbott was arrested when she refused to allow her daughter (age withheld) to be sexually touched by TSA agents.
NewYorkDailyNews.com reports that Abbott was arrested at Nashville airport when she “shouted and swore” at TSA agents, telling them she wouldn’t allow her young daughter to have her “crotch grabbed”.

Thousands of individual donors give millions to Ron Paul to end the Federal Reserve, remove the U.S. from illegal wars and to restore the constitution, but what good does it do if elections are still suspect?
Oil prices have soared to their highest level in the past ten months following reports of an explosion of pipelines in Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich Eastern Province.

But it’s not all good news for iCommunism: as of December the benefit per household has dropped to a series low of just $280.5. One can only hope this money is being spent on edible iPads and not on silly things such as iPot.
The little cameras in your home are multiplying. There are the ones you bought, perhaps your SLR or digital camera, but also those that just kind of show up in your current phone, your old phone, your laptop, your game console, and soon your TV and set-top box.

This weekend thousands will be headed to annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference in Washington, DC. At the conference, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Obama are expected to speak. It has been announced the two will meet privately to chat about Iran, but publicly the US and Israel haven’t seen eye to eye on what to do about Iran’s nuclear program. Brian Becker, the national coordinator of A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, gives us his take on the upcoming conference.
Santorum, a conservative Catholic, also expressed the view
(“If we look at the shape of main line Protestantism in this country . . . it is a shambles.
It is gone from the world of Christianity,” )
Protestant churches in America had drifted away from the Judeo-Christian ethic on which America was founded. And Catholics haven’t? Pot black/Kettle black.

All told, a dozen states have approved new obstacles to voting. Kansas and Alabama now require would-be voters to provide proof of citizenship before registering. Florida and Texas made it harder for groups like the League of Women Voters to register new voters. Maine repealed Election Day voter registration, which had been on the books since 1973. Five states – Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia – cut short their early voting periods. Florida and Iowa barred all ex-felons from the polls, disenfranchising thousands of previously eligible voters. And six states controlled by Republican governors and legislatures – Alabama, Kansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin – will require voters to produce a government-issued ID before casting ballots. More than 10 percent of U.S. citizens lack such identification, and the numbers are even higher among constituencies that traditionally lean Democratic – including 18 percent of young voters and 25 percent of African-Americans.
(*This is a ‘Grain Of Salt’ article , in that it is illustrating an issue , but it is pointing at a partisan objective , where WE KNOW the GOP is screwing their own i.e. Ron Paul supporters . )
It looks like Bank of America might have started circling the drain before the Occupy movement even had a chance to launch its campaign against the company. For weeks now there have been ominous signs of trouble at the bank, and yesterday we heard yet another dark piece of news.
Last year, there was an uproar when Bank of America announced a plan to slap customers with a monthly $5 fee for debit card usage. The bank eventually backed off that plan when the public and some politicians cried foul.
Now it seems the company is going to try to put a new package on the same crappy idea and sell it again. This time, the plan is to add charges that range from $6 to $25 a month.
Lawrence Davidson proposes an alternative to military power as a measure of a nations greatness or exceptionalism, and that is a nation’s ability provide its citizens with adequate food, decent education and housing, good healthcare and productive work at a living wage.
