Japanese Debris to Start Hitting Western U.S. and Canada THIS WEEK

I noted in June that debris from carried out to sea in the Japanese tsunami would hit the Western U.S. and Canada within a year or so, and that nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen urged us to demand testing of radioactivity from the American government.

It turns out that scientists underestimated the speed with which the debris would reach the Western coast of North America.

Regulator defends bonuses at Fannie, Freddie

The government regulator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac said Thursday that million-dollar bonuses paid to executives at the companies were necessary to keep the mortgage giants running.

Compared to this, Greece was just a sideshow. Italy could blow Europe to pieces

Watching the cost of servicing Italy’s debt surge past the level that triggered bailouts in Greece, Ireland and Portugal, I found one of Kipling’s verses forming in my mind:
This is midnight — let no star

Delude us — dawn is very far.
This is the tempest long foretold —
Slow to make head but sure to hold.

Italy is the third-largest economy in the EU, and the eighth largest on the planet. Its outstanding debt of €1.9 trillion (£1.6 trillion) accounts for 25 per cent of all the debt in the eurozone.

Russia, China: No new Iran sanctions

Russia and China have voiced their opposition to fresh sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, the Russian Foreign Ministry has announced.

After a meeting in Moscow, Russian and Chinese diplomats expressed “the mutual conviction that the application of new, additional sanctions against Iran will not lead to the desired result,” Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Reuters reported on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the idea of imposing additional sanctions against Iran, calling for further dialogue to resolve concerns about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear issue.

Dennis Ross Fired Over IAEA Dud

There is a hunch that the firing of Dennis Ross is one of the (well deserved) outcomes of the recent “nuclear Iran” IAEA report dud. The NYT writes:

Dennis B. Ross, a seasoned diplomat who has been one of President Obama’s most influential advisers on Iran, the Middle East peace process and the political upheaval in the Arab world, will leave the White House in December, a senior administration official said on Thursday. Mr. Ross, who announced his departure at a lunch with Jewish leaders, told White House officials that he promised his wife he would leave the government after two years.

Yeah, right. The “more time for the family” excuse which is regularly used when people in the officialdom get fired. It never really passes the basic smell test.

Bonds Sell Off Following Very Weak 30 Year Auction

Minutes ago the Treasury auctioned off yet another block of $16 billion in 30 Year bonds. The auction was pretty horrible: the When Issued was trading at 3.155% when the press release hit that the bond cleared at only 3.199%, a huge 4+ bps tail for the longest duration paper. Internals were not pretty either: the Bid to Cover dropped from 2.94 to 2.40 and Dealers had to buy well over half again or 55.7% with Indirects taking a meager 28.4%, and the remaining 15.8% going to Directs, nearly half of the 29.5% from October.

CDU Escalates Plans For EU Treaty ‘Adjustment': Wants Option For To Kick Habitually Broke Countries Out Of Eurozone

Yesterday we wrote that according to a Handeslblatt report, Angela Merkel is “investigating ways to enable countries to leave the Euro.” Today Handelsblatt has a follow up with some very critical clarifications which change the equations of the European bailout all over again. Yesterday, the Handelsblatt reported that the CDU “wants to make it possible for European Union members to exit the euro area….A commission within the party, that is crafting a framework to be presented at a party meeting, has proposed allowing a euro member who doesn’t want to or isn’t able to comply with the common currency rules to leave the euro region without losing membership in the EU, the newspaper.” In other words, the transition out would be “voluntary.”

With Iran This And Iran That, Here Is The Weekly US Naval Update

Let’s face it: with the Iranian invasion foreplay having gone on about 3 years too long, everyone is just waiting for the flashing red “GDP boosting” headline. But to know how close we are to I-day, there is one question needing an answer: where are the boats?

Our society has become so degraded and our populace so apathetic and willfully ignorant, that I think we are too far gone to recover. Honesty, truth and compassion have been soundly defeated by injustice, lying and greed. Our technologically advanced society has become a stinking cesspool, devoid of humanity, common sense and morality. Those with the power and wealth who control our country do not concern themselves with quaint concepts like good and evil, right and wrong, or moral and immoral. Sociopaths see no obligation to society, humanity, or posterity. They only care about themselves, their wealth, their status, their reputation, and their control of others. They are incapable of feeling shame or remorse. They blindly march forward towards their own and society’s self-destruction.

Obama to Aid Uzbek Dictatorship

The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, in a move initiated by the Obama administration, has voted to waive Bush-era human rights restrictions on military aid to the Islam Karimov dictatorship in Uzbekistan, one of the most brutal and repressive regimes on the planet. The lifting of the restrictions, now part of the Foreign Operations bill, is before the full Senate and appears to have bipartisan support. The Obama administration has indicated that it intends to provide taxpayer-funded military assistance to Uzbekistan once the legislation passes both houses of Congress.

“We have always been at war with Eastasia!”

The Obama administration is making this controversial move in order to open the Central Asian nation to transit military equipment and other supplies in and out of Afghanistan, particularly after neighboring Kyrgyzstan looks likely to close its U.S. military base in Manas when the lease runs out in 2014. Potentially of greater consequence, Pakistan has threatened to cut off supply routes to U.S. forces in that landlocked country, so there is a scramble to look for alternatives. Unfortunately, as defenders of administration policy have put it, Afghanistan is surrounded by dictatorships, leaving them little choice but to provide assistance in return for transit rights.

Big Banks Plead with Customers Not to Move Their Money

650,000 customers moved $4.5 billion dollars out of the big banks and into smaller banks and credit unions in the last month.

But there is a myth making the rounds that the big banks don’t really care if we move our money. For example, one line of reasoning is that no matter how many people move their money, the Fed and Treasury will just bail out the giants again.

But many anecdotes show that the too big to fails do, in fact, care.

Has Obama Just Kicked Off Another Oil War — This Time in Africa?

On Friday, October 14, President Barack Obama announced he would be sending 100 Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) forces to Uganda to “remove from the battlefield” (meaning capture or kill) the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), Joseph Kony. “I believe that deploying these U.S. Armed Forces furthers U.S. national security interests and foreign policy and will be a significant contribution toward counter-LRA efforts in central Africa,” wrote Obama in a letter to U.S. House Majority Leader, John Boehner, R-OH.

Israel betrayed by world powers, scholar says

Israelis are aware Canada is their new best friend but no longer care so much about Western support, says influential Middle Eastern writer Barry Rubin.

The American-born terrorism expert who lives in Tel Aviv was in Vancouver this week to launch a speaking tour sponsored by the Toronto-based Centre for Israeli and Jewish Affairs.

Israelis are “very aware” of and happy about Canada’s support, Rubin reports.

“Because we’ve sucked the USA dry as a bone … and now it’s your turn!”

Dear Canada. Do;t say I didn’t try to warn you.

NEWS ALERT: Israelis Prevent Irish Activists From Boarding Flight Home

The seven Irish human rights activists due home in Ireland this afternoon at 2:25 pm were at the last minute prevented from boarding their flight out of Ben Gurion airport by Israeli armed guards. They had been taken last night to a holding cell and were ready to board their 7:40 am flight to London this morning when at the last minute they were prevented from doing so by Israeli security forces and returned to Givon prison. All seven are now being detained indefinitely, with no further news available from Israeli authorities or the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs about when they will be released.

Webmasters comment Just who the hell do the Israelis think they are? An Australian was onboard a vessel in international waters and has been captured and illegally held in custody by the Israeli authorities. What is the condition of the Australian who was detained, what is he charged with, how was he detained, where is he being held, what conditions is he being held under and just what is the Australian Government doing to effect his release because he was detained in international waters? You can bet London to a brick that if North Korea did the same to an Australian citizen the whole Parliament would be up in arms. Of course when it comes to the behaviour of Israel, very few if any are game to say a word. Unflippingbelievable. Oh and this bloke looks like he would be a real threat the nuclear armed Israel now doesn’t he.

Will There Be More 9/11s?

And what might that continuing discrepancy mean for the future of the United States? Well, it means the U.S. will almost certainly lose the war in Afghanistan, just as it lost the war in Iraq. You see, in Afghanistan as in Iraq, there are just too many people who really hold a fearsome dislike for the U.S., its government and its soldiers, to make likely successful conquest and pacification. A more general victory in the war of terror is equally unlikely. Here the applicable logic is rather simple. There were a set of conditions that led up to the 9/11 attacks and the attacks themselves created a precedent. America’s contribution to those conditions (our policies and our behavior) have held constant.

A Financial Nightmare For Italy: The Yield Curve For Italian Bonds Is Turning Upside Down

What we are all watching unfold right now is a complete and total financial nightmare for Italy. Italian bond yields are soaring to incredibly dangerous levels, and now the yield curve for Italian bonds is turning upside down. So what does that mean? Normally, government debt securities that have a longer maturity pay a higher interest rate. There is typically more risk when you hold a bond for an extended period of time, so investors normally demand a higher return for holding debt over longer time periods. But when investors feel as though a major economic downturn or a substantial financial crisis is coming, the yield on short-term bonds will often rise above the yield for long-term bonds.

For Bank Of America, Debit Fees Extend To Unemployment Benefits

Shawana Busby does not seem like the sort of customer who would be at the center of a major bank’s business plan. Out of work for much of the last three years, she depends upon a $264-a-week unemployment check from the state of South Carolina. But the state has contracted with Bank of America to administer its unemployment benefits, and Busby has frequently found herself incurring bank fees to get her money.

Soooooooooooo … Bank of UnAmerica is paid to hand out the unemployment money, and grabs a chunk of it from the people on the back end as well?

Obama to announce US base in Darwin

US to rotate marines through an Australian base in Darwin in a permanent new military presence.

Webmasters comment  What types of weapons will the Marines be holding on this base? Marines need ships. They are part of the US Navy. Will they have nuclear armed ships in Darwin harbour? Will the base become a drone base? As if the US doesn’t have enough imperial military bases around the world [ about 200 ] the Australian Government is now opening the doors here. This will make China very very happy indeed. It’s about time Australia grew up and came to accept we are no longer Europe or US centric. The Atlantic axis is well and truly finished in Australian history. Our security and military alliance future, whether we deny it, like it accept it or not lies in Asia. The day will come, despite the current human rights  etc problems in China, when China will become our major military/strategic partner. This will be a natural progression and nothing will stop it apart from some crazies blowing up the world….and that is very very possible considering the soundness of mind of some leaders around the planet.

Occupy Movement Demands Home Mortgages Correction

On Thursday, teamed up with the Backbone Campaign, National People’s Action, and the New Economy Working Group in a march from Freedom Plaza to the Federal Housing Finance Administration (FHFA).

The demand they brought, along with giant props including a foreclosed house under water, was for a correction. The 1%, they said, inflated house values and made off with ill-gotten gains, but those left with underwater mortgages when the house values were brought back down have suffered. The demand is for mortgage values to be adjusted to match the current market values of houses.

… which won’t address the underlying problem of a corrupted banking system, so I chalk this one up as an attempt to bait the protests away from Wall Street with a few bread crumbs.

War with Iran will be catastroph?

Iran won’t back down from its nuclear program in the face of any new sanctions, so says the country’s president. Tehran denied it was developing atomic weapons, as suggested in the latest report by the the international nuclear watchdog. A few days ago, Israel spoke of potential military action against Iran – raising fears the IAEA’s findings could be a pretext to an attack. John Glaser, an assistant editor at, says US is constantly pushing Iran to create a nuclear bomb.

Reactor factor: Iran to grow more nuclear with Russia

The Russian atomic energy agency is in negotiations with its Iranian counterpart on building new nuclear reactors for the Islamic Republic, the agency’s head confirmed.

Tehran has indicated its intention to call upon foreign expertise in building up its nuclear power industry, and Russia, which has already helped Iran complete its Bushehr plant, is considering its participation, Rosatom chief Sergey Kirienko said on Thursday during a cabinet session.

Washington and Israel v. Iran and Flotilla Activists

While high stakes nuclear roulette continues, the fate of Freedom Waves to Gaza activists hangs in the balance.

On November 2, Canada’s Tahrir and Ireland’s Soairse (Freedom) sailed from Fethiye, Turkey. Israel warplanes and naval vessels shadowed them in international waters.

Israeli warships interdicted them violently. Their boats were nearly sunk. Some on board were injured. Twenty-seven participants were arrested, roughed up, detained and imprisoned. All their possessions were stolen.

How the War on Terror Militarized the Police

Ever since September 14, 2001, when President Bush declared war on terrorism, there has been a crucial, yet often unrecognized, shift in United States policy. Before 9/11, law enforcement possessed the primary responsibility for combating terrorism in the United States. Today, the military is at the tip of the anti-terrorism spear. This shift appears to be permanent: in 2006, the White House’s National Strategy for Combating Terrorism confidently announced that the United States had “broken old orthodoxies that once confined our counterterrorism efforts primarily to the criminal justice domain.”

IAEA report on Iran-News Analysis

Israel is estimated to have anywhere from 150 to 400 nuclear warheads: but it does not allow the IAEA to inspect its facilities. Israel has refused to sign the NPT, or the non-proliferation of treaty.

This is while the US has the world’s largest stockpile of nuclear weapons, with massive plans for upgrading them. America’s stockpile and its improvement plans are both in violations of the non-proliferation treaty.

In this news analysis we will discuss the US and Israel nuclear weapons and the exceptionalism they enjoy.

Iran: WMDs Redux

Here we go again. Everything that goes around, comes around. We’ve seen it all before, each time fake. Nothing’s different now.

Previous articles said US intelligence assessments through March 2011 found no evidence of Iranian nuclear weapons development.

During his December 1, 1997 – November 30, 2009 tenure as IAEA director general, Mohamed ElBaradei concurred. He carefully avoided anti-Iranian rhetoric and baseless charges.

War Clouds Form over Iran

Israel’s all-powerful lobby in Washington, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), an organization composed of Israeli collaborators, infiltrators, and outright traitors to the United States, is steamrolling through the House of Representatives H.R. 1905, which would prohibit the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, members of the U.S. Foreign Service, or any special envoy from engaging in any sort of diplomatic contact, official or unofficial, with any member or agent of the government of Iran. Only when the President informs the requisite committees may he proceed with engaging on diplomatic contact with Iran.

Will Americans Be Conned into War Again by the WMD Mirage?

It’s that time again, our government is ready to add yet another country to their growing list of “enemies”. Anyone who remembers the lead up to the invasion of Iraq must get deja vu when hearing some of the most recent threats to come out of Washington, concerning Iran.

France apparently is the first country to officially recognise the Palestinian Occupied Territories as a nation. This is definitely an indication that Palestine will soon be recognised as a State.

Beginning with Occupy Wall Street in September 2011, a protest movement spread across the United States to 70 major cities and hundreds of other communities. Similar actions emerged in scores of other nations.

For the first two weeks, the corporate-owned mainstream media along with NPR did what they usually do with progressive protests: they ignored them. These were the same media that had given the Tea Party supporters saturation coverage for weeks on end, ordaining them “a major political force.”

Fahrenheit 11/11/11

Believe it or not, November 11th was not made a holiday in order to celebrate war, support troops, or cheer the 11th year of occupying Afghanistan. This day was made a holiday in order to celebrate an armistice that ended what was up until that point, in 1918, one of the worst things our species had thus far done to itself, namely World War I.

World War I, then known simply as the world war or the great war, had been marketed as a war to end war. Celebrating its end was also understood as celebrating the end of all wars. A ten-year campaign was launched in 1918 that in 1928 created the Kellogg-Briand Pact, legally banning all wars. That treaty is still on the books, which is why war making is a criminal act and how Nazis came to be prosecuted for it.

Catherine Austin Fitts: The Black Budget And The Leveraged Buyout Of The World Using Stolen Money

Catherine Austin Fitts said we are witnessing a Leveraged Buyout of the world that will permanently end democracy. The elite has bought all the politicians and the media. They have stolen enough money to earn 2 trillion dollars a year from their investments. She said 2 trillion dollars a year is sufficient to fund a world government.

She said we were all heartened when the House voted against the Bailout in 2008. The bankers reversed that decision through three methods. They were able to donate money and give bribes which most voters are aware of. They are not aware of Control Files which have all the blackmail information on politicians. But with government databases run by private military contractors …

Thomas Jefferson and Defiance to Tyrants: An Anniversary worth Celebrating

Most Americans know that Thomas Jefferson was the principal author of “The Declaration of Independence.” Yet few of them have ever even heard of another document that I would say might be the second most important one he ever wrote – The Kentucky Resolutions of 1798, which were adopted by the Kentucky General Assembly on November 10, 1798.

Jefferson drafted these resolutions – in secret – while he was serving as vice president. It was written in response to the hated Alien and Sedition Acts which were passed under the John Adams administration.

10 questions the MPs did not ask Murdoch

When Rupert Murdoch appeared before the parliamentary committee on 19 July 2011, there were ten questions the MPs could have asked, but did not, about the relationship he had with Tony Blair during the run up to the Iraq war, when Murdoch was, according to Blair’s former press officer Lance Price, “the third most powerful figure in the Labour government” — after Blair himself and Gordon Brown.

The Dodgy Dossier – “Iraq: Its Infrastructure of Concealment, Deception and Intimidation” – or is that Britain’s Concealment and Deception?

The two Iraq dossiers, which supposedly provided a valid foundation for the attack of Iraq, have been riddled with problems since there publication. From accusations of plagiarism too embellished information attempting to create the impression of a “rogue state”, which is dangerous to the security of the world and must be dealt with immediately. The two dossiers, the first published in September, which proposed Iraq’s capability of launching an attack within forty-five minutes. The second or the “dodgy dossier”, published in February and partially plagiarised can be viewed here, or the conclusions and recommendations from the committee are here. Sexed up: How London sold its war on Iraq

Aside from jointly invading another country, it appears that the United States and Great Britain have another thing in common as a part of their “special relationship”. They both twisted and distorted intelligence to suit their political needs. That this has happened in the US is now well known, but the British equivalent has not been well appreciated outside of the UK. That is about to change.

Political careers are on the line with the imminent release, on February 28, of the report of the Hutton inquiry, chaired by Lord Hutton, set up last year to conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dr David Kelly.

IAEA’s ‘Soviet Nuclear Scientist’ Never Worked on Weapons

The report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published by a Washington think tank Tuesday repeated the sensational claim previously reported by news media all over the world that a former Soviet nuclear weapons scientist had helped Iran construct a detonation system that could be used for a nuclear weapon.

But it turns out that the foreign expert, who is not named in the IAEA report [.pdf] but was identified in news reports as Vyacheslav Danilenko, is not a nuclear weapons scientist but one of the top specialists in the world in the production of nanodiamonds by explosives.

New York – Rabbi Helps Lead Off Occupy Protesters March From NYC to DC

Flanked by police scooters, about two dozen Occupy Wall Street protesters started a two-week walk from New York to Washington on Wednesday.

The activists left Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park, marched past the World Trade Center site and boarded a ferry to New Jersey. The group planned to stay overnight at a private home in Elizabeth, N.J., and resume their walk on Thursday morning.

“Everything is going well so far, everyone is in good spirits” Kelley Brannon, the walk’s main organizer, said during a phone interview Wednesday night, shortly before they arrived in Elizabeth. “We’re doing well and looking forward to our travel.”

Fascist take-over of US-Videos

This is about the level of intelligence operating the biggest organizations in the world.
They – Wall Street, the Pentagon, the oil companies etc. – know how to build large cash extraction systems.
But they don’t know – and don’t care – what to do when those systems break down and become catastrophically destructive.
Meanwhile, members of the news media and government are so busy filling their faces like so many pigs at the trough, they’re oblivious to any consideration of the rights of individuals and the future.

With that knowledge, they can sort out for themselves Who and Why. Absent that knowledge, they’re left adrift in the domain of conspiracy theorists, hate-mongers and such. We see this knowledge as essential in the transition to the Knowledge Society.

From HaAretz … The Anti-Defamation League said it was “deeply disappointed” by the private exchange between French President Nicholas Sarkozy and U.S. President Barack Obama in which the two leaders were overheard making critical remarks about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
I too was deeply disappointed that the exchange was ‘off the record’ and not part of a global condemnation of Israel’s leadership and their policies.
But the question remains, how did Israel get its stranglehold on the entire world?

‘Anti-Iran states provided IAEA report’

A senior Iranian lawmaker says the basis of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on Iran’s nuclear program has been fed by the country’s major enemies.

This shows that the IAEA has strayed from its specialized area and unfortunately it has been caught up in political issues, Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Kazem Jalali said on Wednesday.

Jalali added that as a technical international organization, it is expected of the IAEA to act within the framework of technical issues and international law, Fars News Agency reported.

Brainwashed for Final Ethnic Cleansing

In my analysis global concern from here on should be less about trying to start a real peace process in which Israel’s present and likely future leaders have no interest and more about stopping a final Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

PRESS TV Interview: Dr. Ashraf Ezzat on Targeting Iran [VIDEO]

“The US-Israel- NATO military coalition is again lying to the world … but this time they are lying about Iran. The problem here lies in people buying that lie one more time after what happened in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan and Libya.

Nixon’s long-secret Watergate testimony coming out

Richard Nixon’s grand jury testimony about the scandal that destroyed his presidency finally is coming to light.

Four months after a judge ordered the June 1975 Watergate records unsealed, the US government’s Nixon Presidential Library was making them available online and at the California facility today.

Historians dared hope that the testimony would form Nixon’s most truthful and thorough account of the circumstances that led to his extraordinary resignation 10 months earlier under threat of impeachment.

Netanyahu is a Liar… but so are the Leaders of America and the West

We don’t know if both Houses of the US Congress, whose members gave Netanyahu over sixty standing ovations during a speech filled with lies earlier this year, share Sarkozy’s opinion.”

US, Israel Plan ‘Largest’ Military Exercise in History

Let’s hope it is not a cover for another false flag attack. When will people say “no more” and be willing to stand behind their words.

Dershowitz’ Lies and Glitches by Gilad Atzmon

Rabid Zionist Alan Dershowitz is devastated by the success of ‘The Wandering Who’. He just cannot accept that professors and academics endorse the book “as ‘brilliant,’ ‘fascinating,’ ‘absorbing,’ and ‘moving’,” In his latest article he again misses an opportunity to debate the book, its message and its meaning. He prefers instead to indulge in the only things for which he possesses any talent at all – lying and bullying.

The American Surveillance State Puts Orwell to Shame

Recently I published a relatively long article entitled, The invisible surveillance state: DHS and the end of America as we know it, which breaks down the invisible prison-like system that is the United States has become and how the Department of Homeland Security is diverting public funds into programs that would make Orwell’s Big Brother look like a joke.

Some of this information is nothing short of unbelievable. It seems so ludicrous that it is easily dismissed as conspiracy theory or paranoia.

Unfortunately, everything I detailed is heavily documented to the point that it is simply irrefutable.

I really wish the high-tech American police state was just a conspiracy theory, but it is not and we are doing ourselves, and our nation, a disservice by pretending otherwise.

Russia blasts new IAEA report on Iran

Russia has strongly criticized the release of the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran, describing it as a “source of a new increase in tension” over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday the release of information from the IAEA report was driven by “destructive logic” aimed at the “intentional demolition of the political-diplomatic process.”

“Russia is gravely disappointed and bewildered that the report is being turned into a source adding to the tensions over the problems connected to the Iranian nuclear program,” reads the statement, Reuters reported.

Tightening the Noose: The IAEA Report on Iran’s Nuclear Program

A joint statement by the Campaign Against Sanctions & Military Intervention in Iran (CASMII) & The Virginia Defender newspaper

Monday, November 7, 2011

A diplomatic, economic and military noose is being steadily tightened around the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On the diplomatic front, the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is about to release its latest report on Iran’s nuclear program, a program Iran insists is solely designed to produce electricity and not atomic or nuclear weapons, as is claimed by the United States and other Western powers.
