Everyone Missed It, But China Has ALREADY Retaliated For Last Night’s Big Currency Vote In The Senate
Last night, the Senate passed a bill that would impose tariffs on currency manipulators like China.
It’s not expected to pass the House or get signed by The President, but China has already responded to the provocation.
As Nomura explains, it fixed the yuan shockingly low against the dollar last night, moving it in the exact opposite direction the U.S. wants:
To ensure the European sovereign debt crisis doesn’t go to waste, the markets have kept policy makers and bankers on their toes. The naysayers of a European turnaround have become so overwhelming that it is stunning Europe hasn’t submerged into the Atlantic Ocean yet. It appears that German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the cautious woman with the checkbook, is about to turn the tide.
The most difficult challenge in writing about the Iranian Terror Plot unveiled yesterday is to take it seriously enough to analyze it. Iranian Muslims in the Quds forces sending maurading bands of Mexican drug cartel assassins onto sacred American soil to commit Terrorism — against Saudi Arabia and possibly Israel — is what Bill Kristol and John Bolton would feverishly dream up while dropping acid and madly cackling at the possibility that they could get someone to believe it.
NYTimes Sues The Federal Government For Refusing To Reveal Its Secret Interpretation Of The PATRIOT Act
We’ve been covering for a while now how Senators Ron Wyden and Mark Udall have been very concerned over the secret interpretation the feds have of one piece of the PATRIOT Act. They’ve been trying to pressure the government into publicly explaining how they interpret the law, because they believe that it directly contrasts how most of the public (and many elected officials) believe the feds are interpreting the law. While the two Senators continue to put pressure on the feds and to hint at the feds’ interpretation, just the fact that the government won’t even explain its own interpretation of the law seems ridiculous.
Given all of this, reporter Charlie Savage of the NY Times filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out the federal government’s interpretation of its own law… and had it refused. According to the federal government, its own interpretation of the law is classified. What sort of democracy are we living in when the government can refuse to even say how it’s interpreting its own law? That’s not democracy at all.
Market Slumps After European Banks Admit They Can’t/Won’t Raise Capital; Will Proceed With Asset Liquidations Instead
It was about an hour before the market close, which means it was time for the latest FT rumor. Only this time, unlike the 3 or so times before, the bazooka was not only a dud, it caused the inverse reaction of that intended, and led to a broad market selloff. The reason: according to the FT (and certainly take this with a salt shaker if previous experience is any indication) is that European banks have balked at the prospect of recapitalizing at current levels (“Why should we raise capital at these [depressed share price] levels?” said one eurozone bank boss. The average European bank’s equity is trading at only about 60 per cent of its book value.) and instead will opt for asset liquidations.
Just saw this mentioned by a Twitterer. I’m looking for details now, but if they were just summoned, they can’t even start illegally leaking until it’s over.
Will Obama attempt to Wag the Dog by bombing Iran?
American-born cleric who had key role in Fort Hood, Christmas Day, and Times Square attacks met with US officials months after inspiring alleged 9/11 hijackers
Al-Qaeda terror mastermind Anwar Al-Awlaki, the man who helped plot the aborted Christmas Day bombing, the Fort Hood shooting, the Times Square bombing attempt, and who also preached to the alleged September 11 hijackers, dined at the Pentagon just months after 9/11 documents obtained by Fox News show.
American-born cleric Awlaki’s role as a key figure in almost every recent terror plot targeting the United States and Canada, coupled with his visit to the Pentagon, only confirms our long stated position that Awlaki is a chief terrorist patsy-handler for the CIA – he is the federal government’s premier false flag agent.

So now, the incredibly corrupt, Eric Holder of Fast and Furious Fame; a division of Dumb and Dumber has come up with a bad network TV shitcom plot of a fabricated event, that actually took place in June, though it probably didn’t even happen then. Oh, let’s go out on a limb and say that none of what’s reported really happened but that whatever happened was constructed by Holder’s neo-con Israeli masters, who pretty much control what remains of the so-called American government, as well as the American economy and that can be seen in the stupendous and outrageous wealth consolidated in the holdings of this small minority of dual nationals in the occupied American territories. Of course, that statement is anti-Semitic due to its being true.
I’ve been down to “Occupy Wall Street” twice now, and I love it. The protests building at Liberty Square and spreading over Lower Manhattan are a great thing, the logical answer to the Tea Party and a long-overdue middle finger to the financial elite. The protesters picked the right target and, through their refusal to disband after just one day, the right tactic, showing the public at large that the movement against Wall Street has stamina, resolve and growing popular appeal.
Fast And Furious: 22 Shocking Facts About The Scandal That Could Bring Down The Obama Administration
Could Fast and Furious be the scandal that brings down the Obama administration? With the full knowledge of the Department of Justice, ATF agents facilitated the sale of thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels and dropped all surveillance of those weapons once they crossed the border.
TENS OF thousands joined protest marches across France yesterday to denounce government austerity plans.
In the first wave of public demonstrations since a controversial pension reform was enacted last year, trade unions organised about 200 events yesterday, though turnout was much lower than last year. Some 25,000 people marched in Paris, the unions said, though police put the figure at 16,000.
Unions have criticised the decision by President Nicolas Sarkozy’s government to make €11 billion in savings next year, saying the steps this requires are “unfair and inequitable” and will jeopardise jobs.
On the march to Place de la Bastille in Paris, Francis Magnon, a postal worker, said there was a need to stress alternatives to the austerity measures being pursued across Europe.
Several French unions called for a national day of action against the government’s austerity package on Tuesday, calling on employees to demonstrate in streets and cripple transportation, especially in Paris.
State railway SNCF said nearly one quarter of the country’s high-speed trains would be either cancelled or delayed.
The strikes also caused express metro system delays in the French capital.
n Australia, the headache is worsening for the Governor of the Reserve Bank – and not just on the economic front.
New allegations have surfaced about the Reserve Bank’s knowledge of alleged corruption involving the RBA subsidiaries, Note Printing Australia and Securency.
The firms are accused of paying secret commissions to middlemen to win banknote contracts in Nepal and Malaysia.
Fairfax newspapers are reporting that some top RBA officials were involved in covering up evidence of corruption within the subsidiaries in 2007 and 2008.
The country’s biggest private sector pension funds are £200billion in the red, a report warned yesterday.
In just four weeks, the deficit has grown by £80billion, fuelled by the stock market plunge and collapsing returns on government bonds.
Experts warn the alarming figures could prompt employers to close pension schemes or make them less beneficial to staff.
Veterans Today is a publication for those who wore the uniform to defend their countries, in our case, 28 countries from Israel to Libya to Russia, Serbia, the United States, Greece, Turkey, the list goes on.
The number used to be 28, its much higher now. Many of us are former law enforcement, some highly decorated.
What went on in Boston and New York has made me more than ashamed. I saw it coming, the deterioration in law enforcement in the US, that “us v. them” that had infected so many bad police departments.
If Arbabsiar approached the agent first, how did he find them? If the FBI put Arbabsiar under surveillance for suspicious activities and then lured him into direct communication (which could have been the initial point of contact), was the FBI involved in other persuasive activities as well? Considering the loony aspects of this story which even Hillary Clinton has alluded to, is it wrong to question the sanity of Arbabsiar? Is it unfathomable that the FBI could have found a crazy and/or impressionable person who was acting on his own accord but was in some way related to elements of the Iranian government?
More than 100 olive and fig trees on farmland near Bethlehem were set alight on Tuesday in an attack that local witnesses blamed on Jewish settlers.
The incident occurred in Nahhalin village, which lies between the southern West Bank town of Bethlehem and the Beitar Illit settlement.
Osama Shakarna, head of the Nahhalin village council, told AFP more than 100 olive and fig trees had been destroyed in a fire on the northwest side of the village, which faces Beitar Illit, in a blaze he blamed on local settlers.
“Two settlers from Beitar Illit burned lands in Al Matabekh area, northwest of the village,” he said, adding that an army jeep was present at the time.
U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder has been subpoenaed by the Republican chairman of a House oversight committee, an escalation of the congressional investigation into the botched “Fast and Furious” gun-tracking operation.
When Eugene Hassenfuss’ airplane first crashed, the governmemt claimed that it was just a gun-smuggling operation gone wrong. Later we found out that drugs smuggling was involved as well; a scandal that touched both parties and three Presidents that came to be known as Iran-Contra.
Given that it has already been admitted cocaine was allowed into the US as part of the dealings with the cartel that received the guns, we are seeing either a repeat, or worse, a continuation of that same insider guns and drug running operation.
Which expains this sudden rush to distract everyone by starting war with Iran, even if it means war with Russia.
Top officials have been talking it up regarding the alleged terror plot in the capital city of the U.S. (DC) as they consider the plot an act of war.
Another staged diversion (false flag operation) is in the works, possibly coming down the pipe.
The globalist plan is all to predictable with even CNN claiming on TV this morning that this alleged terror plot is almost too much to buy.
What started in NewYork City in mid September, a call to “flood lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street,” has continued to feed similar groups around the United States taking up the name and cause. Groups have gathered to bring attention to many issues, with a central focus on the economic hardships and inequality they say many Americans face. — Lloyd Young (35 photos total)
If Obama thought a coerced confession and a call to war with Iran was going to get the American people to abandon their fight against fascism, salute the flag, and throw their money and their childrens’ lives onto the bayonets of yet another of Israel’s many enemies, he was tragically mistaken.

The alleged Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States may be an act of war against the U.S., the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee said Wednesday.
Okay, Senator, Here’s your parachute and here is your rifle. Please watch your step climbing into that airplane, and we’ll call Iran and tell them you are on your way.
For the rest of us, with the memory of Iraq’s non-existent nuclear weapons still fresh in our memories, a confession extracted from a used car salesman in Texas after 12 days of presumed water boarding is insufficient reason to attack a nation that has not attacked us, nor to distract us from the economy, from Fast and Furious gun and drug running by the government, or from the still-growing OccpyAMERICA movement.
You might think that war with Iran (which means war with Russia) is going to solve all your problems, but We The People know otherwise, and we refuse to go along with throwing what is left of our money and the lives of our children onto the bayonets of yet another of Israel’s many enemies. If yu are so inclined, feel free to use your own money and your own children. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.
Occupy L.A. Speaker: Violence will be Necessary to Achieve Our Goals
This is exactly what I was warning you all about. FBI informants infiltrate these groups, then talk people into actions the media can use to demonize them and the police can use as legal justification to shut the protests down.
Nobody doubts that violence is coming, but the side seen to initiate it will lose in the court of world opinion.
BTW as you read the comments, it is obvious that Wall Street’s public relations companies are on double-overtime. They are easy to spot. They are the ones still screaming “communist threat” like it is still 1950.

Recent developments on the eastern border have alarmed Pakistani policymakers and military officials, who are keenly observing India’s preparations for a conventional war with Pakistan in the context of the Cold Start war doctrine, a Pakistani newspaper has said.
There has been a chain of developments, all tied to the overall scheme of things, which aims at destabilising its neighbour and building a formidable war machine to strike within the Pakistani borders, The News reports.
There’s good reason for the Jewish community to be proud. A Forward analysis of the 995 grants distributed through the national program from 2007 to 2010 found that 734, or 73.7%, went to Jewish organizations. DHS announced its grants for 2011 in late August, and here, too, Jewish groups were the big winners, with 81% of those awards.
Some experts find the scandal well-timed. Iran has been the main Mideast irritator for the US for too long, hampering its total control of the Great Middle East from Morocco to Pakistan. At the same time US main allies in the region are Saudi Arabia and Israel…Thus, even if no plot existed at all it should have been invented not to miss this ideal moment to launch a propaganda attack on Iran.

The United States is aggravating the HIV/AIDS problem in Russia and the West by refusing to use its forces to destroy opium crops in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
Lavrov made Russia’s persistent case for poppy crop eradication by U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan at a conference on communicable diseases in the eastern Europe and Central Asia region, where AIDS is a growing problem.
Memo to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov; the opium coming out of Afghanistan, addicting your kids who share needles to shoot it, can only rightly be called for what it is; a form of asymmetric warfare against Russia.
When the Taliban were in control of Afghanistan, they managed to almost completely eradicate opium poppy cultivation; after the US/NATO invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, opium production and distribution has soared: the timing of this rise in production and distribution is no accident.
To those reading this site who are not old enough to remember the Viet Nam War, let me introduce you to what happened there with regard to illicit drug trade.
Perhaps the biggest secret of the Vietnam War is that our Central Intelligence Agency seized control of the infamous Golden Triangle during that time period, then, along with assistance from various elements of Organized Crime, shipped huge amounts of heroin out of that area into our country. Because piles of money were being made from this practice and many others, those who stood to profit from this horrendous war – the armament manufacturers, bankers, military men, and drug dealers – met any suggestion to withdraw from Vietnam with immediate consternation. But that’s exactly what John F. Kennedy intended to do upon re-election. In fact, he had already planned on telling the American people that their troops would be back home by 1965. Think about this momentous decision for a moment. If we had exited Vietnam by 1965, EIGHT years of bloodshed in the jungles and civil unrest on America’s streets and campuses could have been alleviated.
The former intelligence analyst, Robert Baer, joins The World Today and warns the Obama administration to step back from blaming Iran for the foiled assassination plot against the Saudi ambassador in Washington. The former CIA case agent says the attack doesn’t appear to have been planned by Iran, and that the US may have got its assessment dangerously wrong. He says the US must open a direct diplomatic channel with the Iranian regime .. or risk igniting an uncontrollable war.
what Robert Baer apparently doesn’t grasp is that a war – ANY war – is very much on the agenda of some of those in the bowels of power in both DC and Tel Aviv.
The Likud party in Israel wants the US to “neutralize” the alleged existential threat they believe Iran poses to them (with Americans getting killed and maimed for life, of course, not the Israelis). The US government is in an absolute mess economically, and has always managed to get out of such messes through war.
However, this time, a war against Iran may well be a war the US will be unable to win. Our military troop strength is already stressed to the max; we no longer have the manufacturing strength domestically with which to quickly replace critical material infrastructure; and with a 14 trillion dollar Federal debt, what lender in their collective right mind would loan us one cent?!?
And here’s the “wild card” factor no one wants to talk about: Russia’s potential response to such an attack. Russia has been, in the last decade, “sitting it out” with regard to the US’s pre-emptive wars against Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Yemen. One has to wonder, however, what this nuclear-armed country will do if the US and/or Israel decide to attack Iran. I wouldn’t bet against a military response on the side of Iran, should the US and Israel be so foolish as to attack it.
After initially vowing to plead innocent and call Kurt Haskell, the man who saw him being aided onto Delta Flight 253 by a well dressed man, as a defense witness, alleged underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has changed his mind and admitted all eight charges against him, thereby protecting accomplices involved in the plot…
The Occupy Wall Street protests and the rise of the Tea Party movement have both changed America, but you haven’t seen anything yet. You better buckle up, because America is getting very angry and as the economy continues to decline the economic protests are going to become much more frightening in the years ahead. Americans have become very accustomed to prosperity. Now that our prosperity is vanishing, people are starting to become very angry. The scary thing is that the vast majority of our population now lives in tightly congested urban areas. That makes the potential for mass rioting and civil unrest much greater.
I would like to share the observation that when Mike and I went to the “Occupy Hawaii” demonstration last Saturday, the mood was extremely cooperative and peaceful. In fact, one gentleman brought food to share. The people there may have had a multiplicity of reasons for showing up, but that is perfectly fine, and completely protected under the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
These peaceful protests will remain peaceful unless subverted by government plants, or disrupted by consistent, overt police brutality. So please remember at any demonstration, the person advocating violence of any kind is most likely an agent/provocateur, working for some arm of alphabet-soup Federal agency.
I thoroughly disagree that Occupy Wall Street has been co-opted by the Democrats; the Democrats are just as in bed with Wall Street, the large corporations, and the military-industrial complex as are their Republican counterparts.
But as more people get more desperate, we may, in fact, be looking at civil unrest, with massive Federal and state boots attempting to stomp that down.
So if you are seeing the beginning of massive unrest where you live, please remember the pragmatic stuff; communications devices, possibly two-way radios with excellent range; a plan to get back together if the family is separated; a bug-out kit in the car, if you need to drive to safety; extra food, water, medical supplies and equipment, and prescriptions for yourself and your pets.
Find a small, cooperative group of people you can trust with whom you can work in terms of basic survival needs, particularly when it comes to children’s needs.
While I understand – and feel – the anger out there, massive violence will simply be the Obama Administration’s excuse for the imposition of martial law, and possibly the suspension of the 2012 elections.
With Obama’s numbers numbers tanking faster than the speed of light, such a move might be very attractive to this administration.
A one-time business partner of a former Texas used car dealer accused of plotting to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s ambassador says he never thought of his friend as politically motivated, much less involved in a potential terrorist act.
David Tomscha tells The Associated Press he briefly owned a used car lot with Manssor Arbabsiar. He says he’s “no mastermind,” and even is a little lazy.
The entire claim of an Iranian plot using Mexico drug cartels to assassinate the Saudi ambassador here in the United States is based on a confession acquired after 12 DAYS of interrogation using the methods (water boarding) applied to all suspects in terror “investigations”.
This latest in a long line of hoaxes to start wars is already falling apart.
Next question: Is Israel and the US desperate enough for war with Iran to stage a major false flag attack inside the United States?
Hell yeah they are!
So, what are the protesters so upset about, really?
Do they have legitimate gripes?
To answer the latter question first, yes, they do.
They have very legitimate gripes.
And if America cannot figure out a way to address these gripes, the country will likely become increasingly “de-stabilized,” as sociologists might say. And in that scenario, the current protests will likely be only the beginning.
I have to applaud the “Occupy Wall Street” movement even if their message is a little disjointed. I think the message will sharpen in time. I hope the main focus continues to be the ongoing market manipulation and crime that has gone unpunished. I know folks on both sides of the spectrum are criticizing these folks. I am not surprised because, after all, both parties have been bought off by the Wall Street bankers. (I am behind anyone who is exercising their First Amendment rights.)…
“If they cannot address this [the sovereign debt crisis in Europe] in a credible way, I believe within perhaps two to three weeks, we will have a meltdown in sovereign debt which will produce a meltdown across the European banking system.
We’re not just talking about a relatively small Belgian bank, we’re talking about the largest banks in the world. The largest banks in Germany, the largest banks in France that will spread to the UK in part through the sovereign debt problems in Ireland.
It will spread everywhere because the global financial system is so interconnected, all those banks are counterparties to every significant bank in the US and in Britain, and in Japan and around the world. This would be a crisis, in my view, more serious than the crisis in 2008.”
Justification for war with Iran.

The wounded warriors visible to most Americans are the survivors, those who overcome debilitating injuries through their own perseverance and the hard work of military medical teams, friends and family.
There are those who rise even further above adversity, competing in the Special Olympics, giving motivational speeches, enjoying standing ovations and special guest appearances at ballgames and State of the Union addresses.
Others come home wounded, and don’t make it much further. For them, the quality and type of medical care they require simply isn’t available on a long-term basis, and that’s a problem the military and the Veterans Administration have yet to fully wrestle to the ground.
Iran’s leaders marshaled a furious formal rejection on Wednesday of the United States accusations that the Islamic republic had schemed to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington, calling the case a cynical fabrication meant to vilify Iran and distract Americans from their own severe economic problems, highlighted by the Occupy Wall Street movement.
It still looks to be in pretty good shape – Perhaps we could bring it out of retirement for Wall Street criminals…

But was Obama’s groveling before Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu really a ‘failure’ in the eyes of the White House? Or was his speech really a carefully crafted appeal to a domestic audience in order to raise hundreds of millions of dollars from pro-Israel billionaires to finance his re-election campaign?
